Description: |
Portland Coastguards requested Lifeboat assitance to a report of a 18' Plymouth Pilot fishing vessel 'Longshot' disabled with a net around its propeller SW of Godnor.
ILB paged launched and proceeded.
As the ILB was enroute C.G's informed them that the UKSA sailing vessel 'Ambisious' had the vessel in tow South of Portland Bill.
ILB closed the position and the tow was transferred to the ILB.
ILB towed vessel inshore out of the tide to see if the net could be cleared. It was found to be on too tight so vessel towed back to its mooring at Castletown, Portland.

ILB released to return to station, refuelled and made ready for service |
