Portland Coastguard requested Lifeboat assistance to a 23' bass fishing vessel 'Gemma T' with steering failure off Portland Bill.
ALB paged launched and proceeded.
Once launched the Gemma T was found to be under tow by the local fishing vessel 'Alanda', but was running low on fuel.
ALB arrived on scene off Grove Point.
Alanda slipped her tow and ALB passed her towline. Tow commenced to the waiting pontoon at Weymouth.
At the entrance to Weymouth stern tow slipped and vessel taken alongside ALB's port side for tow up the harbour.
Vessel moored on the waiting pontoon where met by Wyke C.G Officers.
ALB released to return to station, refuelled and made ready for service |
